Saurabh Netravalkar came up with a superb super over that helped USA clinch historic victory against Pakistan in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Saurabh Natravalkar born in Mumbai, was a part of India’s 2010 U-19 World Cup squad. He played alongside Indian stars like KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. He scalped 9 wickets in that U19 World Cup and became the team’s top wicket taker.

Saurabh was selected for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy but had to shift to the USA for his Master’s in Computer Science. Later, he settled in San Francisco as a software engineer.

But Cricket always remained with Saurabh Netravalkar. He got selected for the USA for the first time in 2018. Next year, he was named the captain of the team for the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two in Namibia.

As USA achieved their ODI status, Saurabh Netravalkar became the first-ever player to captain the USA ODI Cricket team.

In the match against Pakistan in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Netravalkar took his first wicket in the second ball of his spell dismissing Mohammad Rizwan. He took his second wicket by dismissing Ifthikar Ahmed on the first ball of the 19th over.

But he turned to be the hero at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas when he defended USA’s 18 runs in the Super Over. He gave away only 13 runs and also scalped Ifthikar’s wicket again. It was a historic win for the USA.

Saurabh Netravalkar who works for Oracle, has received a congratulatory message from his employer.

“Congrats @USACricket on a historic result! Proud of the team and our very own engineering and cricket star @Saurabh_Netra,” the post read on X.

While managing his job for Oracle and playing cricket for the USA, Saurabh is now geared up for the clash against India. He is quite emotional to play against his home country but is determined to put all his effort for a US win.
