The PWR DUPR India Masters is scheduled on October 24-27, 2024 at RK Khanna Tennis Stadium in Delhi.
The PWR DUPR India Masters is a PWR 700 event
on the PWR World Tour. PWR (Pickleball World Ranking) is the unified global ranking system for Pickleball players and DUPR is a point system that rates a player.
The PWR DUPR India Masters is PWR’s first fully owned and operated event, following the launch of its World Tour in July 2024 in Dubai. The tournament has one of the highest prize pools of $50,000.
Pranav Kohli, the CEO of PWR, said, “For every tournament we do, the idea is to take care of three key stakeholders in our ecosystem- the players, sponsors, and vendors or people who work for us. I do not want to claim that mine is better. The players are prioritised, and I want them to come wholeheartedly and experience that.”
In the Delhi event, 750 participants—both professional and amateur—are competing. Top international players like Dustin Boyer, Puch Huynh, Roos Van Reek, Mitch Hargreaves, Emilia Schmidt, and Chuan Kao are competing, along with Indian players like Armaan Bhatia and Aditya Ruhela.
The involvement of the Times Group as one of the investors for the event has given a huge boost to Pickleball in India. Vineet Jain, the MD of Times Group, has a vision to grow this sport and be a part of the bigger Pickleball ecosystem.
