Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu is now the Asian Games silver medallist too. Sindhu grabbed the historic individual medal at the Asian Games after losing the women’s singles title clash to world number one Tai Tzu-Ying in the Asian games Women’s Badminton Singles finals.

Tai Tzu showed complete dominance as she took only 34 minutes to win the match in straight sets with a score of 21-13, 21-16. However, Sindhu became the first Indian to cement her spot in the final of the Women’s Singles Event at the Asian Games. This is Sindhu‘s third defeat in a big final this year, having lost the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games title clash to Saina Nehwal and the World Championship summit clash to Spain’s Carolina Marin.

It was a double delight for India as Saina Nehwal came third after losing the final to the same Tai Tzu Ying in the semi-final of the event. Both Saina and Sindhu created history as they were the firsts to enter the semi-final in the Asian Games.
