Paris Paralympics Day 4: India adds two more medals

Paris Paralympics Day 4- Highlights of the day were two medal-winning performances from Nishad Kumar and Preethi Pal.

India won two medals and confirmed three more on Paris Paralympics Day 4. 

Nishad Kumar won silver in Men’s High Jump T47 with the season-best attempt of 2.04m. Nishad put up a strong performance but lost the gold to Roderick Townsend of the USA who cleared 2.12m.

The other Indian highjumper Ram Pal finished seventh with a personal best jump of 1.95m.

Preethi Pal won her second medal at the Paris Paralympics. She clinched the bronze medal in the T35 200m race, and a day later she won bronze in the 100m T35. Preethi clocked a personal best of 30.01s to finish behind China’s Zhou Xia (28.15s) and Gou Qianqian (29.09s).

India’s Suhas Yathiraj beat compatriot Sukant Kadam in the Men’s Singles Badminton SL4 semifinal to enter the gold medal match. Thulasimathi Murugesan also guaranteed another medal by winning the all-India semifinal match.
