Paris Olympics Day 5: Swapnil qualifies for another shooting medal

Paris Olympics Day 5- Swapnil Kusale qualifies, Lovlina and Nishant one win away from securing a medal,  HS Panoy and Lakshya Sen are in a face off.

Swapnil Kusale became the first Indian to qualify for the final of Men’s 50m Rifle 3Pevent on Paris Olympics Day 5. Kusale scored a total of 590. He shot 99 & 99 in prone, 98 & 99 in standing and 96 & 99 in kneeling. 

However, the other contestant from India, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar finished 11th.

In Boxing, Lovlina Borgohain in Women’s 75kg and Nishant Dev in Men’s 71kg qualified to the quarterfinal. 

On Paris Olympics Day 5, Deepika Kumari reached the Round of 16 after 6-2 win over Quinty Roeffen of the Netherlands.

In Swimming, France’s Léon Marchand won a doubles by winning 200m Butterfly and 200m Breaststroke about two hours apart. 

Katie Ledecky clinched her 8th Olympic gold medal and 12th medal overall by winning the 1,500m Freestyle event.

Adriana Ruano won Guetamala’s first Olympic gold medal as she clinched the Women’s Trap title with an Olympic record of 45 out of 50.
