Priya Mohan of Jain University pulled away a stunning victory in Women’s 200m final at Khelo India University Games 2021 as she defeated Olympian Dutee Chand by 0.12 seconds.
Youngster Priya Mohan stayed abreast with Dutee Chand till 100m and then outpaced her to win the final of 200m at KIUG2021. Priya Mohan representing Jain University clocked 23.90 seconds while Dutee Chand representing Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology’s finished with 24.02. Florence Barla from Ranchi University bagged the bronze, finishing in 24.13 seconds.
However, this was Dutee Chand’s season’s best in the 200m. Her previous best timing was 24.52s in the semi-finals of the national inter-university women’s athletics championships at Bhubaneswar in February.
In the team events, Mangalore University swept all the titles to win the overall championships in Athletics at the Khelo India University Games 2021. Mangalore tllied 109 points followed by Lovely Professional University with 94 points and Maharshi Dayanand University with 67 points.
