Indian Team makes highest score in Test cricket

Indian Women’s team scored 603 for 6 wickets before Harmanpreet Kaur declared the innings against South Africa. This is the highest score ever made in Women’s test cricket. Indian team surpassed Australia’s previous record of 575/9.

Shafali Verma’s fastest double century

Shafali Verma hit 205 runs in 197 deliveries with 23 fours and 8 six. She now holds the record for the fastest double century scored in Women’s Test Cricket. 

Sneh Rana’s 8/77

Sneh Rana became only the third bowler to bag an eight-wicket haul in women’s Tests. Neetu David of India took 8 for 53 against England in 1995, while Ashleigh Gardner of Australia had figures of 8 for 66 in the 2023 Ashes Test. Rana took total 10 wickets in the match as she picked up two scalps in the second innings. Jhulan Goswami took 10 for 78 against England in the 2006 Taunton Test.

India’s 3rd consecutive test win

Previously, India won against England and Australia in December 2023. This win against South Africa gave the team a hat-trick of Test wins. It is the joint-longest winning streak in women’s Tests.
 
India had a hat-trick of Test wins between 2006 and 2014, while Australia had three such streaks.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s wins all three as captain

India have won all three Test matches under Harmanpreet Kaur‘s captaincy. She is the first woman to win her first three Tests as captain.She is now the most successful test captain for India along with Mithali Raj who also had 3 test match wins.

Laura Wolvaardt scored centuries in all three formats

Laura Wolvaardt became the third woman to score centuries in all three formats of the game, along with Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont.
