India beat Japan 6-0 in Four Nations Opener

India began their journey in the Four Nations Invitational Tournament by defeating Japan 6-0 at Tauranga in New Zealand. Rupinder Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Dilprit Singh and Harmanpreet Singh were the scorers for India.

The first goal was scored by Rupinder Singh in the 7th minute, when he successfully converted the penalty stroke in a goal. Vivek Prasad, playing in his first match for India, scored in the 12th minute and then scored his second one 15 minutes later. Another debutant Dilprit Singh came into action by scoring the fourth goal for India. Towards the end Harmanpreet Singh turned a penalty corner into a goal and sealed the match for India.

India will next play against Belgium and New Zealand in their other matches.
