USA and West Indies are ready to co-host ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It is for the first time an ICC event is going to be held in an associate member nation.
The upcoming edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is going to be a unique cricketing event. It is for the first time that an ICC Cricket event is going to be held in the USA- the country famous for Basketball, Tennis and American Football.
It is also the first instance that an associate member nation will be hosting a major ICC event. The 16 matches to be played in the USA will take place at three venues- New York, Dallas, and Florida.
Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York
Nassau County International Cricket Stadium will host its first match between Sri Lanka and South Africa on June 3. The stadium will also host the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan on June 9.
The stadium was previously used for Formula 1 during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. It has been redeveloped for the ICC Cricket event. There are 34,000 seats at the stadium with modular grandstands.
After the World Cup, the modular architecture will be removed and only the field is to remain intact. The drop-in pitch will be replaced by artificial turf.

Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas
Grand Prairie Stadium was opened in 2008 as the home stadium for Texas AirHogs of the American Association of Professional Baseball. In 2020, AirHogs stopped operating from there. Then American Cricket Enterprises acquired the lease and started redeveloping it.
The Grand Prairie Stadium is a permanent structure unlike Nassau County Stadium. There were some renovations done to redevelop it from Baseball to Cricket. The lower bowl around the ground was rebuilt to ensure an oval shape for the Cricket ground. The stands on the backward square-cover boundary were built.

Central Broward Park and Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida
Central Broadway Park is the oldest and one of only two dedicated Cricket stadiums in the United States. It was the first stadium in the USA to get its pitch certified by the ICC. Since then, it has hosted the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and series between West Indies and other international sides like New Zealand and India.
