Asian Open Pickleball Championship- Team India reinforce their dominance

Pickleball Championship Vietnam 2024

Team India win 4 gold and 2 bronze at the recently concluded Asian Open Pickleball Championship Vietnam 2024.

The All India Pickleball Association’s strong contingent of 35 individuals showcased exceptional skill and teamwork at the Asian Open Pickleball Championship Vietnam 2024. Consequently, they won 6 medals in total, including 4 gold and 2 bronze.

In the highly-competitive Team event, Team India secured gold medal. The event included two Men’s Doubles, one Mixed Doubles and one Women’s Doubles Matches, 

In the Mixed Doubles Intermediate 35+ category, Sachin Pahwa and Priyanka Chhabra clinched the gold medal. Following a thrilling battle against Ruben Hellberg and Chitlada Hemasee, they emerged victorious with a score of 11-9, 5-11, 11-9.

Additionally, Vijay Menon and Priyanka Chhabra showcased their prowess in the Men’s Singles Advance 35+ category and Women’s Singles Intermediate 35+ category, respectively. Moreover, both secured bronze medals in their respective categories. Menon defeated Yu Hsuan Cher, while Chhabra triumphed over Marissa Phongsirikul.

Isha Lakhani and Pei Chuan Kao emerged victorious in the Women’s Doubles Open category final against Dang Kim Ngan and Tyak K with a score of 15-7 15-3.

In the Men’s Doubles event, Aniket Patel and Rohit Patil won against Nik Alessandro Isagan and Lester Ga by 5-11 11-6 11-8 scoreline.

Arvind Prabhoo, President of AIPA stated, “I am very happy with Team India’s performance. Our focus at AIPA is to ensure that more players take up the game, leading to the emergence of more champions from India.”
