Indian Women’s Junior team clinched the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup title with a resounding 31-run win against Bangladesh at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Road ground in Hong Kong.
With rains washing out most of the matches in the tournament, the Indian Women’s Junior team got to play only one match in the group stage. They advanced to the final winning that only match.
Opting to bat first in the final of the ACC Women’s Emerging Women’sTeams Asia Cup, India posted a modest total of 127/7 against Bangladesh. Dinesh Vrinda was the top scorer for the India with 36 off 29 deliveries. Kanika Ahuja remained unbeaten on 30 runs off 23 balls.
Bangladesh players struggled from the beginning while chasing the target. The spin duo of Shreyanka Patil and Mannat Kashyap wrecked havoc, guiding India to a well-deserved triumph. Patil ended with an impressive figure of 4/13 and Kashyap took of 3/20.
Kanika Ahuja claimed two crucial wickets for 23 runs. Earlier she made 30 runs off 23 balls. She was adjudged the the Player of the Match.
