Paris Paralympics Day 2: India’s para-shooter, Avani Lekhara, doubled her Olympic gold medal, and the country won four medals on Day 2.
It was a memorable day for the Indians on Paris Paralympics Day 2. Exactly three years after becoming the first female Indian athlete to win a Paralympics gold medal, Avani Lekhara created history by doubling it up. She won her second gold medal in Paris by defending her 10m Rifle title. India’s Mona Agarwal bagged bronze in the same event.
Shooter Manish Narwal also won his second Paralympics medal as he followed up his Tokyo gold in 50m Pistol with a silver in 10m Pistol in Paris.
Preeti Pal became the first Indian to win a bronze in a track race at the Paralympics. She sprinted to bronze with a personal best in Women’s 100m T35.
