Paris Olympics Day 9- The Indian Men’s Hockey team produced a gritty show and Novak Djokovic winning his career Golden Slam highlight the day at Paris Olympics 2024.
Lakshya Sen fell short in his experience to beat defending champion Viktor Axerlsen in his semifinal clash. He crashed to a 20-22 14-21 defeat to the Danish. Lakshya will now fight for the bronze medal.
Indian Men’s Hockey team qualified for the semifinal after a gritty performance against Great Britain. The Indian team were reduced to 10 men at the beginning of the second quarter. But defending heavily they took the match to the penalties. They won the penalties by 4-2.

US swimmer Katie Ledecky collected her fourth straight 800m Freestyle title and ninth career Olympic gold medal.
Novak Djokovic became the fifth player to complete career Golden Slam(4 Grand Slam and Olympic gold medal) in singles by beating Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 7-6 in the final. The other four are Serena Williams, Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi and Rafael Nadal. Steffi Graf is the only player to achieve the feat on a single year.
American Noah Lyles took the gold in Men’s 100m Sprint while Jamaican Kishane Thompson finished second. American Fred Kerley picked up bronze.
In the Women’s 100m Sprint, St Lucia’s Julien Alfred ran faster than favourite Sha’Carri Richardson to win the gold medal.
