Sri Lanka clinched the Women’s Asia Cup by riding on Chamari Athapaththu’s 61 and Harshitha Samarawickrama’s 69*.
Samarawickrama was the Player of the Match in the Final, while Chamari Athapaththu was the Player of the Tournament of the Women’s Asia Cup. Athapaththu has become the first player to score 333 plus runs in the Women’s T20I Asia Cup including a hundred and two fifteen in five innings.
This was the second time in their nine final appearances that India failed to win the Women’s Asia Cup.The previous such instance was in 2018, when Bangladesh beat India by three wickets.
