Natekar Sports and Gaming is teaming up with Sony Entertainment Talent Ventures India (SETVI) to revolutionise Pickleball in India with the introduction of World Pickleball League.
Sony Entertainment Talent Ventures India (SETVI), a new-age celebrity talent business in India, plans to invest $10 million over the next three to five years in World Pickleball League initiated by Natekar Sports & Gaming (NSG) in India. NSG will have a majority stake in the League with SETVI coming as the first investor.
In late January this year, NSG inked a long-term partnership with All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) to organise a first-of-its-kind League for Pickleball in India. AIPA, the premier governing body for Pickleball in India, wishes to amplify the sport’s reach across the nation through this partnership.
Notably, Pickleball is a thriving sport in over 92 countries globally with an inpressive number of active players. In India, the sport has found a solid footing, being played across 21 states with the participation of over 15,000 enthusiasts.
The inaugural World Pickleball League will consist of six franchises, each featuring 6–8 players. The teams will comprise a mix of Indian talents and leading international players.
