Parul Chaudhary and Annu Rani had won gold for India on day 10 as India continued to break the medal tally record at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
India on Day 10
The first medal on day 10 for India was won by Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam in Men’s Canoe Double 100m.They clocked 3:53.329 to secure India’s second Canoe medal in Asian Games history. Johnny Rommel and Siji Kumar Sadanandan won a bronze at the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima in the same event.
Highlights of Day 10
Hangzhou Asian Games Cycling Road competition kicked off on day 10 with Kazakhstan’s Alexey Lutsenko successfully defending his title in the Men’s Individual Time Trial. finished with a time of 48:5.75. The Women’s Individual Time Trial was won by Olga Zabelinskaya of Uzbekistan claimed the gold medal with a remarkable time of 24:35.99.
China swept the Men’s and Women’s 4x100m Relay gold medals. The Chinese quartet of Chen Guanfeng, Xie Zhenye, Yan Haibin and Chen Jiapeng achieved a season-best time of 38.29 seconds to win the Men’s 4x100m Relay final. In the Women’s 4x100m event, Liang Xiaojing, Wei Yongli, Yuan Qiqi and Ge Manqi clocked a winning time of 43.39 for China.
22-year old Indonesian Olympic champion Rahmat Erwin Abdullah clinched the gold in the Men’s 73kg event on day 10 of the Hangzhou Asian Games. Abdullah created a world record of 201kg in the Clean and Jerk in the course of his win.
China dominated the day with 14 gold medals, with the biggest haul coming from Canoe Sprint, where they secured five golds on the final day of the discipline. China’s medal count reached to 161 gold, 90 silver, and 46 bronze medals. Japan is second with 33 gold medals and Republic of Korea is third with 32 gold.
