The 2nd RYP Tournament, to be held on 4th and 5th Devember 2021 at Olympic Sports Centre in Palava, is the first major Pickleball tournament to be held in India post COVID.
More than 300 players from 20 states of India are likely to participate in the 2-day RYP Tournament to be organised by All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) in association with Amateur Pickleball Federation of India (APFI) and Pickleball Federation of India (PFI). The tournament will be played both in day and under lights on 17 Pickleball courts laid on existing Tennis court surfaces of the beautiful sports complex.
Besides the Open category, there will be other age categories for the players- Under 14, Under 19, Above 40 and Above 50. They will be competing for medals and attractive prize money of more than 4 lakhs. The best player of the tournament will be awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title. The MVP will be sent to an all-paid trip to participate in the Asia Open Tournament scheduled to be held at Phuket in Thailand in April 2022.
The organisers have recently conducted the 1st Maharashtra State Pickleball Open Tournament as a curtain raiser for the RYP Tournament. With an enthusiastic participation of both the seniors and juniors, the State Tournament was a huge success.
