In the first-ever NBA match played in India, Indiana Pacers edged past Sacramento Kings 132-131 in a thrilling contest. Played at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai, the match was played in extra time after it ended in a draw at the end of 4th quarter.

After the regulation time ended at 118-118, the match was decided in the extra five minutes when the Pacers, who were trailing throughout the match, went ahead for the first time. For Kings, a two-pointer by Marvin Bagley in the dying seconds of the game also could not seal the deal for them. In the additional time, it was T Warren took the lead for Pacers with a three-pointer to take his side 121-118 ahead, but the Kings bounced back with Harrison Barnes grabbing two points. However, Domantas Sabons with a two-pointer again, took the Pacers ahead 123-120. And once again it was Warren with a two-pointer took Pacers ahead, but the Kings came back but finally it was a lay-up shot by Sabons that sealed the game for his side.

Founded in 1967 the Indiana Pacers compete in the Eastern Conference of the NBA, which they joined in 1976. They got their name from their base city Indianapolis. The franchise is currently owned by Herbert Simon, an American real-estate developer based in Indianapolis. The Indiana Pacers won three American Basketball Association Championships in 1970, 1972 and 1973. But after joining the NBA,  the Pacers did not have much success. They have failed to win a single title in the last 43 years. They came closest in 2000, reaching the playoff finals, where they were beaten four games to two by an LA Lakers side.
