“Keep on Dinking, Point is Earned……”
Sachin Mandrekar believes this thoroughly- in Pickleball and in life. In this hard-core world, where each one is fighting for his existence, Mandrekar tries to keep it simple- of not losing hope as good things will surely come.
Sachin Mandrekar is immensely thankful to his Club MK mates for bringing to him one of the best things in his life.
“Pickleball has given me so many things that I never dreamt of. I played almost all types of sports in my younger days but not at a level like this one. Playing state-level championships, representing my state in nationals or playing for a team in Super League was far from reality. But Pickleball made all happen. This game has given me so many friends, memories, travels and so on, so forth.”
Friendship is always a part of Mandrekar’s life. He partnered with some amazing players of Indian Pickleball who not only helped him to win medals but also improve his game to a different level.
“Being a doubles player, it is always necessary to have a great camaraderie with your partner. And I am grateful to all my partners who have helped me to reach this level. There is Manish with whom I played my first nationals. Bhushan, with whom I won my first major tournament. Ashu, with whom I played in the Super League. And of course, Sunil with whom I won state tournament.”
Although medals has come in for Sachin, he himself feels that there are certain areas that he needs to improve.
“I need to have more aggressive shots. For that regular practice is very necessary. As I am self-employed, I schedule my practice time as per my convenience. But I make it sure that I practice daily. If I don’t do it then it will be tough for me to compete against so many young talents in India.”
