For Indian cricket lovers, Dugout refers to the benches just behind the boundary line allowing players to enter and exit the field quickly to keep in pace with the speed of 20-20 matches. But the term has its originality not in cricket but in . Dugout probably started in 1844 in professional baseball when an area was built with its floor slightly below field. Constructing the dugouts below field level was needed to allow spectators seated behind the dugouts to see the field. In most Major Baseball Parks the dugout is directly connected to the clubhouse by a tunnel. In general, the dugout is occupied by those players who are not on the field, as well as coaches and other authorized persons.
