Youngster’s day: 15-year old Shardul Vihan clinches silver in Men’s Double Trap

At 15, Shardul Vihan is an Asian Games medallist. The Meerut-boy clinched the silver medal in the Men’s Double Trap at the 18th Asian Games at Palembang, Indonesia. Vihan shot 73 to claim the silver medal, while Korea’s 34-year-old Shin Hyunwoo clinched the gold with a score of 74. Qatar’s Al Marri Hamad Ali bagged the bronze after shooting 5. 

Shardul gave India the 17th medal at the Games. In Shooting India has claimed eight medals till now with 2 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. He now joins the young guns like Saurabh Chaudhary and Lakshay Sheoran to win a medal at Asian Games 2018.

Her love for sports started from an early age when she played gully cricket and football for local teams. Academics and professional hazards sometimes took her away from her passion, but it never died in her. She always nurtured the never-ending dream.
