Shooting medal for India; Deepak Kumar wins Asian Games silver in Men’s 10m Air Rifle

Indian shooters are expected to accumulate the largest number of Asian Games medals in this year’s edition at Jakarta. And they are on their task. After yesterday’s bronze medal performance of Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar in 10m Air Rifle Mixed event, India’s Deepak Kumar upgraded the medal colour to silver by winning it in 10m Air Rifle Individual event. He shot a brilliant 10.9 in his last attempt to bag India a podium spot. Deepak shot a total of 247.7 behind China’s Haoran Yand who shot 249.1, which is a Games Record.

Ravi Kumar, on the other hand, came fourth with a total of 205.2 finishing behind third place owner LU Shaochuhan of Chinese Taipei.
