16-year old shooting sensation Manu Bhaker of India won the coveted gold in 10m Air Pistol at the Commonwealth Games 2018. Veteran Hena Sidhu bagged the silver in the same event. Bhaker achieved a Games Record with 240.9 points while Heena battled elimination early in the final and shot brilliantly to claim silver with a total of 234.0.
Manu Bhaker rose to fame with her gold medal performance in ISSF Shooting Word Cup at the beginning of this year. Manu decided to take up shooting only at the age of 14. Her rise is phenomenal as she started collecting medals at international events soon after.
On the other hand, Heena Sidhu is the veteran of Indian shooting. She became the first Indian pistol shooter to win a gold medal in an ISSF World Cup. Sidhu was a world record holder in the 10 metre air pistol event with a final score of 203.8.
