Jack Hobbs became the oldest man in Test history to score a hundred when he knocked 142 in Melbourne against Australia. He was 46 years and 82 days old.

Neil Adcock, the first South African to get to 100 Test wickets, was born on this day. Adcock took 104 wickets at an average of only 21.
1984
Ross Taylor, one of the finest batsman of New Zealand, was born on this day. He made his ODI debut prior to his Test beginning against West Indies at Napier. In his third ODI, Taylor made 128 against Sri Lanka in Napier. Taylor made his Test debut in 2007 against South Africa at Johannesburg. In 2008 he scored his maiden Test hundred, against England in Hamilton. Taylor is the master of pull shot of the deliveries of spinners.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the swashbacking middle-order batter for India, was born on this day. Harmanpreet is famous for her unbeaten 171 off 115 balls in the 2017 World Cup semi-final. Harmanpreet made her debut in an ODI against Pakistan. She became India’s T20I captain in 2016. In 2016, Harmanpreet became the first female Indian cricketer to be signed in the Women’s Big Bash.

Jonty Rhodes, the flying cricketer, was born on this day. An exceptional fielder, Jonty is regarded as the world’s best by many till date. His flying run-out of Inzamam-ul-Haq in the World Cup match in Brisbane is a myth now.
