Vijender Singh wins his 10th successive professional title

Vijender Singh remains the king as he continues his unbeaten run in the professional circuit. In his 10th bout he defeated African champion Ernest Amuzu with an unanimous verdict at a packed Sawai Mann Singh Stadium in Jaipur. The 32-year-old Olympic bronze medallist has enjoyed a great run in the professional career, winning all his ten fights.

Amuzu was aggressive in the beginning but the second and third rounds were almost even. After that, Vijender started attacking his opponent. Towards the end, it looked only a matter of time for Vijender. With this win Vijender remains WBO Asia Pacific and WBO Oriental Super Middleweight Champion.

Prior to this bout, Amuzu had 23 wins under his belt including 21 knockouts out of 25 fights with 0 knockouts to his name. That statistic remained intact as the Ghanaian remained on his feet, despite receiving heavy blows. Vijender appreciated this effort of his opponent while touching gloves after the last match.

In other under-card bouts of the day, Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Amandeep Singh defeated Punjab’s Manoj Kumar. Kuldeep Dhanda beat Fateh Singh, Pradeep Kharera got the better of Nikhil Sharma, while Dharmender Grewal beat Harsh Nagar.
