1966
Clive Lloyd, the captain of the invincible West Indies side, made his Test debut against India in Bombay. Lloyd was only 22 at that time. He scored half-centuries in both innings and West Indies won the first Test by six wickets.
1970
Greg Chappell made his Test debut with a glorious 108 against England in Perth.
1985
Merv Hughes, Geoff Marsh and Bruce Reid made their debut together against India in Adelaide. The Test had nothing note-worthy except for the debut of those three players who became the pillar of strength later in the Australian team.
1990
Corey Anderson, the stylish batting all-rounder for New Zealand, was born on this day. He made a ODI century off 36 balls which was the fastest century at that time.
