Younis Khan, the dynamic Test batsman, was born on this day. This Pakistani went on to become the highest run-getter for his country when he overtook Javed Miandad’s record in 2015 against England in Abu Dhabi. Younis Khan had a test hundred in his debut in 2000. This No 3 batsman became the third Pakistani to make a triple-century. This came against Sri Lanka in Karachi. Khan led Pakistan to the World T20 title in t2015. Finally he became the first Pakistan batsman to get to 10,000 Test runs in his final series.
2015
The first day-night Test was won by Australia. The match was played with a pink ball, in Adelaide. With that win, Australia had a rare feat of winning their first Test, first ODI, first day-night ODI and the first T20.

New Zealand won the first Test played against South Africa since the two sides played against each other in March 1964. The Kiwis won by 137 runs.

Sadanand Viswanath, the wicketkeeper-batsman, was born on this day. The Indian was a successful successor o Syed Kirmani. Viswanath was aggressive in his approach and played an important role in India’s victory in the World Championship of Cricket in 1985.
