Dinesh Chandimal, the prolific batsman and an off-break bowler, was born on this day. The Sri Lankan made his debut at the age of 21 and hit his first hundred in his second ODI. His Test career also had a promising start, he scored fifties in each innings in Durban as Sri Lanka won their first Test in South Africa. In 2013, Chandimal became Sri Lanka’s youngest ever captain, at 23, when he led the T20 side.
