India played their best hockey in the tournament as they defeated Malaysia 6-2 in their second game of the Super 4s stage of the Hockey Asia Cup in Dhaka. With this win, India jumped to top of the Super 4s standings with 4 points from two games.
India played a dominating game against the in-form Malaysian side after their 1-1 draw i the first Super 4 stage match against South Korea. India scored five field goals through Akashdeep Singh (14th minute), SK Uthappa (24th), Gurjant Singh (33rd), SV Sunil (40th) and Sardar Singh (60th), while Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty corner in the 19th minute. Malaysia came all out in the final quarter and scored two goals-one by Razie Rahim from a penalty corner (50th) and the other by Ramadan Rosli (59th).
India next face arch-rivals Pakistan in their final match of the Super 4s stage.
