Andy Ganteaume, the man who played one Test and has the highest Test average, was born on this day. Ganteaume made 112 for West Indies against England in Trinidad in 1947-48. He never played a Test after that and thus had an average of 112.
1970
Barry Richards, whose Test career was cut short due to South Africa’s ban from international cricket, made his debut against Australia at Cape Town. Barry played just four Tests. In those, he scored 2 centuries and 2 half centuries.
1990
Wasim Akram completed his first Test hundred and that too against Australia in Adelaide. Akram came into bat when Pakistan was 5 down for only 90 runs. He made a blistering 123 and added a partnership of 191 with Imran Khan.
