Harmanpreet Singh touches a milestone as the Indian hockey legend crosses 200 goals for the national team.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh now has over 200 goals in his kitty. His two goals against South Korea at the Asian Champion Trophy 2024, have made him the third-highest goalscorer in India. He is the 12th player to complete 200 goals in international hockey.
Harmanpreet now lies behind hockey legend Dhyan Chand (570 goals) and Balbir Singh Sr (246 goals). He has gone past KD Singh (175) and Dhanraj Pillay (170).
Singh has scored maximum goals against Australia and Japan. Against both these opponents, he has 17 goals each. Singh has 15 goals against arch-rivals Pakistan, 13 against New Zealand and 12 against Belgium.
Harmanpreet’s 200th goal came against South Korea at the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 when in the ninth minute of the match, the Indian captain gave India a 2-0 lead with a powerful flick. His 201st goal came in the same game when in the 43rd minute he scored India’s third goal again with a drag flick.
